Between 1885 and 1908, the Belaieff Quartet performed new works written for “Fridays” by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Alexander Glazunov, Anatoly Lyadov, Nikolay Sokolov, and others. The program will include 12 selections from Les Vendredis, as well as works by Mussorgsky and Rachmaninoff.

New England String Quartet - Needham Free Public Library 125th Annivesary CelebrationTelevised 125th Anniversary Concert celebrating Needham Free Public Library. The program, centered around American and New England themes, includes some of the most famous tunes of the region and classical chamber works, created in and inspired by the music scene of the 19th century America. “Early American Suite” by Percy Hall; selections from Quartet No.4 by George W. Chadwick; “American” Quartet by Antonin Dvorak; and a collection of folk tunes that were popular in New England at the end of the 19th century - when the Library was established.

DJ Premier with cello at WGBH studio in Boston strings recording sessionJulia, Konstantin, Lilit, and Ming-Hui performed as members of Berklee Symphony Orchestra for an experimental project about merging Hip-Hop and classical music. Renowned disc jockey, DJ Premier is working with Emmy Award winning composer Stephen Webber for a documentary about pairing DJ’s with artists from genres that may be unfamiliar with. DJ Premier studied with Bruce Adolhpe, from Juliard School of Music to get a crash course on classical music, to incorporate into a track that Stephen Webber will finish with a classical taste.
